Dr. Strachan is the Associate Dean (Graduate Education) for the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and is Associate Professor of Micrometeorology within the Department of Natural Resource Sciences at McGill University's Macdonald Campus. Dr. Strachan is cross-appointed to the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Science on McGill's downtown campus and is an Associate Member of the McGill School of the Environment.
He completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, his graduate training in micrometeorology was completed at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and his undergraduate degree in Physical Geography was received from the University of Toronto. Dr. Strachan is a past President of the Canadian Society of Agricultural and Forest Meteorology and is a member of the American Meteorological Society’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology.Dr. Ian B.
